I can’t believe they’re talking about waiting that long to get it out. When I hold a meeting like this at work, I’m expected to get the minutes out within a week!
Small bug-bear from last night; I notice that there were no accessibility options available. The captions didn’t appear to be available on the phone and there was no BSL interpreter. This is in addition to the lack of slides too.
We say we want to be an inclusive organisation, perhaps HQAC being inclusive to all our CFAV would be a good place to lead by example?
I mean, the information/table in the latest weekly briefing note gives a good summery on what activities are being paused/reviewed and which ones are carrying on. That’s good to share too.
Some slides would have been good, especially for the pre-written opening bit. I really struggled to follow the Commandant on that bit. No fault of his, just my slow brain trying to listen to a lot of words at once.
Given the recording, questions and answers are all due to be released in the new year as announced in the call last night, it just feels so unnecessary and will now mean a group of people will be redirected to provide this information instead of supporting the organisations output.
Probably down to doing it just before xmas when everyone goes on leave. Hopefully waiting a bit longer means better informed answeres as opposed to quicker response with political answers which wont scratch our itches.
I eventually managed to put some Q&A and was impressed with some offers of support fron others outside of the SLT circle of trust.
Overall it is a step in right directions, hindsight says he should have done it along time ago and peoples view of him and SLT may be slightly different or at least have a better understanding.
His offer of contracting SLT direct should be taken up by some
Unfortunately there are some members in our organisation who are only out to trip others up if they dont get the answers they want and cant understand others will suffer as a result.
Anyone else get the impression that someone who keeps asking FOI requests, is one of those who will never be satisfied. What do they want to prove or gain from their questions? Other than taking peoples time away from their primary roles (regardless of whether they think they are doing it right) is costing us tax payers and the RAFAC far more than a Tea Bar…for comparison I work for a government organisation and our office canteen cost far more than £30k! contactors and materials soon escalate!
RAF Personnel will be considered to be on duty and may claim travel at public expense, the cost however must be borne by the individual’s Parent Station, and therefore prior approval should be sought.
I’m in a nationally recruited unit that already has extraordinarily high HDT, MMA, and HOTAC costs: ‘prior approval’ for anything not supporting current operations won’t be forthcoming.
the “going rate” is different to the “maximum permitted”
For what it is worth the RBL’s “rate” is 25p/mile so I would suggest that the RAFAC is close to the “going rate” in my experience.
(I recognise i am only one sample point and there are likely others paying more, even up to 45p a mile, but as far as I am aware, i only know of business miles (ie those for work but without a company car) who are claimed the full 45p/mile - everyone else i know who claims as part of a hobby is reimbursed far less)
