I recently picked up some uniform for another unit from their parent station (which is different to mine) and noticed that on their Supply Proforma A they can order black socks for their cadets. They have never ordered any and don’t know if they can. They also provide blue/grey RAF coveralls, rather than the green ones I get issued.
I then looked at AP830 (scale 709 and 710) which states that cadets are scaled two pairs of socks (8440-99-1305785-9) and black leather gloves (8415-99-1315756-62).
Has anyone had experience in asking for these items, and have they been successful? Although i’m not sure I need to order socks for anyone the gloves may be useful on colder days.
I thought i’d ask before I approach my own clothing store.
Useful, thanks. We did get some black gloves this year (we thought we’d try!) but I’ve not attempted to get new coveralls. I’ve passed those NSNs on to my SSI.
Does anyone know where we can find the uniform scales on Sharepoint? In the old days it used to be ACP20b, but can’t find reference to it in any of the new ACPS
Cadet uniform scales are in AP830. It is a very long document, but scales for cadets are found under scales 709 and 710.

You can. My clothing stores can’t give me enough of them and it’s often the only item that’s always in stock (no-one in the RAF around by me wants them apparently)!
