You know what really makes me laugh?

What about those who doorstop you to explain the complicated bit they know you’ll ask questions about & bring biscuits?

Asking for a friend

I like them

They walk away thinking I’m not in.

Not that I’d wish ill health on anyone, but…

The irony of the first minister of Scotland being unable to unveil a COVID memorial because she has COVID did make me smirk.

Our mention in disastra_memes

I mean they aren’t wrong, but also if we had more personnel supporting sqn’s then we wouldn’t need at accept in people who just didn’t cut it in the RAF.

Thats sarcasm right?

Ironically, this is probably written by someone who has never volunteered with the RAFAC

Nope, there will be a whole mixture of people who volunteer with the RAFAC.
I would expect that most of us on here will be those who volunteer for the right reasons. Buy I’ve no doubt there are those who volunteer as either “learning” before trying to join the RAF, or volunteer after failing RAF selection.

I just hope that the later get managed to make their volunteering a positive force in cadets lives.

Never going to happen. Look at the spread of the existing stations. Vast swathes of the country aren’t remotely covered. Nobody’s going to volunteer for 10hrs of driving once a week just to help out “the Spaceys”.

It wouldn’t be too bad if we could rely on AFCOs, but they’re crap too.

I know, but a girl can dream, right?

You forgotten to mention the former Forcs who can’t cut the ties and who volunteer purely because they don’t know how to live in the real world. Those are some of the biggest :bell: :end: I’ve ever come across in organisation .

The RAFAC is phase 1 training types?

Yep or the “well that’s not the way the RAF would do it” types.

Over this half term, I’ve introduced the kids to the “that’s you that is” insult lines (off of the 90’s). They have fully embraced it.

Not extended to that’s your mum/dad yet, when talking to their mates/

I’m waiting for my kids to be old enough to use the “yeah, but I xxxxxx your mum” which my dad used to use when I annoyed him

MML (I think - maybe it should MMH)

Popping into Costa and (didnt even know there was one of these promotional competitions going on) winning a 2x adult and 2x Child Day Pass something to Butlins.

What the heck am i going to do with that? Open for offers from any of you lot

Typical that i win that (one of 25 of these prizes) and not one of the 100 annual ODEON passes

Could give it as a prize for an activity at the squadron? We regularly get free tickets for Twickenham and Chelsea ladies. Generally go to cadets as prizes.

This always makes me laugh when sat in the evening writing cadet emails:
