VR(T) Commission Change

Disappointing as it us we are were we are and can’t change anything now I note CAC was in NI today and that restricts what she has been able to do. However the Comms about the change etc has been poor over all

you rate it that good???

The Comms have been bad even the Barracks Room Lawers on here have been slightly better but at this late stage things are not going to improve one way or other I’m sorry to say

Whilst I understand where you’re coming from and the underpinning sentiment, if people put themselves on offer by posting in whatever public domain, then IMO their comments become fair game for response.

To me, this public show of sycophancy was nauseating and they certainly don’t speak for me.

There are some very real logistical issues to be played out. Assuming the CFC gets signed-off in the next few days, I have absolutely no faith that the system can get RACAC pins to uniformed staff before we start rattling tins, selling poppies and marching to war memorials. For sure, we can all (grudgingly) send £4.50 to Cadet Direct for rank slides but do we really think WHQs and HQAC can get pins to us in time? Flip, our WHQ takes three weeks to boil a kettle.

I know nothing of the politics surrounding the delay in the CFC but it is clear there is frustration across the board about implementation. However, to feel the need to monitor Twitter for latest developments is laughable; first new commission in 140+ years or is it 140 characters? Please show us some respect.

I beginning to wonder if we haven’t slipped into a cross between a Monty Python sketch and Alan Ayckbourn farce, with Ronnie Barker (in one of his word sketches) writing the script.

How many people who use twitter get quoted and attacked, lambasted and included in HIGNFY or MTW, purely to treat them badly.
Many newspaper column inches, news, debate and satricial programmes would go if it not were for people unable to defend themselves being included.

From some comments on here it does seem that over the years people have posted on here and been hunted down and made to leave the Corps, as what they have said hasn’t been well received at Cranwell, rather than going through official channels. It’s a pity we can’t do the same with some of our supposed leaders, who seem quite happy using twitface to discuss / issue policy, unless that has become the official channel for policy dissemination.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I shall begin wearing such things as and when they reach me through the official channel.

We are still waiting for badges for the progressive training syllabus. That has been in play for 9 months. I have no faith what so ever in the chain of command what so ever. What should have been a prestigious event for the cadet forces has turned into a joke.

That’s fine, it’s your opinion. However our AUP says posts shouldn’t be mean-spirited in nature nor posted with the aim of belittling or harassing others. I can’t see how these posts don’t breach that.

Perhaps when the commandant was growing up she always asked for a clown outfit?

Now she’s running one.

I quoted two words, neither of which had any mean-spirited or belittling comments attached to them.

AUP or not, people can’t expect to post comments then be protected from them if the nature of their posts cause offence to others. Its sheer backside licking tone offended me.

If we can’t have free speech then what can we have? The twitter poster exercised his right to do that and so did I.

We’re getting dangerously off topic here and I’m happy to take it to a new thread if needed, but at the end of the day I believe that people are quoting people they disagree with solely to scorn them. That will continue to be deleted or edited and I will end up issuing bans or suspensions for repeat offences.

You have the right to free speech, what you don’t have is the right to post derogatory or inflammatory posts about others however you like. Constructive criticism is fine, but no one is doing that. The posts so far have been made to show up “sycophants” or “Brown nosers”. None of that is positive or helpful behaviour.

Has anybody here seen or heard anything official yet? I have asked the team today only to be referred to the CACs letter posted on the 22 Sep.

I was going to reply Sir with respect the chapter 2 did state We will, of course, keep you posted but thought better of it.

This sums up part of what is wrong with today’s society. People can say what they like but when challenged with an alternative view (of whatever sort) they need a safe space and therapy sessions to get over it.

Wool, cotton and wrap, bubble, ACO, for the use of.

Whenever anyone posts on here about the antics of Merkin, Druncker, Barmier and Thestroppylad, no-one comes forward and suggests that we could get banned or have our posts deleted for ridiculing them or being mean-spirited simply because they’re not here to defend themselves.

Isn’t it about time people learned to mtfu and accept that they may be challenged on things they say?

If this shouldn’t be for cadets eyes, then maybe consideration could be given to reinstating that private area we once had?

It’s one thing for Flt Lt Smith to say on Twitface “I think this new system is a good idea” and for us to quote them & then discuss/debate their point of view.

It is another thing entirely to just come on here quote them and say “what a brown noser” with no positive point to the posts at all except to slag them off. If people feel so strongly that said person is a sycophant and that they need to comment on it have the balls to do it on Twitface where the person has a right of reply.

Last post in this thread on the matter but Daws has it right. If you feel so strongly go to where they’ve posted it and tell them. If you do it on here I’ll delete it. Simple.

Please create a new thread if you want to discuss any moderation decisions, or PM me. Back on topic please now.

I was tempted to reply to this also, as the Twitter updates from the Weekend directly contradict the statement that is being referred too.

Also would have expected an update at CoP Friday to say that date has as suspected it may has slipped and therefore current insignia to remain and the point in the last update to wear from 1 Oct is superseded.

As someone has said it just needs an All Adult ACO email - like we saw over the weekend from the BADER Team.

I’ve just deleted two posts. I did explain if you want to discuss this start a new thread.

That will be because the person whose job it is to boil the kettle has been on holiday and when they’ve come back someone moved the kettle who is now on holiday and god forbid they look for it.
