Uniformed staff - aspiring volunteer with concerns about possible medical

That sounds promising then. Thank you.

I’m on antidepressants. I’m an OC. Not sure which came first.

My personal view is that the ATC has a more varied list of activities and benefits both CFAV’s and cadets more. But you get out what you put in.

I’am going down the ATC route because they were so welcoming and I’ve already started - stayed the parade night. They also really need someone with my skills in the particular squadron. It’s good to be able to go every week from now and get involved as a CI, instead of waiting until after April to be allowed to start. At least I can see what goes on and if it’s for me. They thought that I looked like a ‘stayer’ and the chap said he could see me leading my own squadron (but I suspect he is that encouraging with all).

All organisations are made up of different people - the same could have occurred in the ATC in regard to my medical issue. This particular person in the ACF has ignored me since I mentioned my medical condition, not acknowledged forms - I don’t think it was an administrative oversight at all. Everything else has been so efficient. I would have been working with this person, that’s not a good start. I am not judging the ACF. It’s the people involved in this particular case, not the organisation as a whole. Although I won’t need a medical, the people I came across in the ATC were easier to talk it over with. As I said, people, not organisation.
