I agree, but in an organisation with so little really going on compared to even 10 years ago where younsgsters can get the experience of being on camps and other things with their squadron peers, it’s difficult to ‘learn’ how to be an NCO, so it seems we have courses and relying knowing book stuff (ironically when we don’t have books). I learned to be an NCO and developed at successive annual camps.
We do quite a lot of community events and the cadets learn what’s needed as NCOs and the NCOs learn about being an NCO.
