when I was a cadet my Squadron’s warrant officer would state a warrant is a piece of paper.

Indeed - can we add saluting in doorways and referring to officers as “Ma’am Smith” or (less-commonly) “Sir Smith”.

I remember the cadet training team from the army insisting people called me ‘Sir’ as a CWO on my CCF unit. Even showing them the old ACP didn’t convince them.
