And locked, before this gets out of hand.
And more. I’ve sent him a PM telling him it was removed until decided upon.
Maybe so, but then why are the site members trying to identify who the mods are? Shouldn’t they just be using the site for the purpose it’s intended for? I can’t understand why he thinks taking screen shots is going to help his case? Is he going to “appeal”???!!
Because of some other tool he know who Sgt Bilko is in real life, and i know who told him that. That person has been put on the watch list for life now.
Clue 1: “I won’t be using my old username” : Not used the beta forums
Clue 2: Became a mod around the time of the change : Was active before the change
Clue 3: Style of posts
Used Wilf-sans list of MIA members and you have a shortlist.
You have got to give him points for effort though!
I don’t get the screenshots either, it makes no sense to me for him to have them. I can’t see what he’s going to do with them?!
I agree completely though, outing someone is a banning offence in my eyes!
I’ve also removed your original post Mike, as it doesn’t help the situation and I think it’s better to remove it and then we can reinstate it later.
I just put a reply into the locked topic (by accident) suggesting the clues someone might have used to work out your identity and saying that it must have been a lot of effort. When I realised it was the wrong topic I deleted it but someone might have seen it in the 20 seconds it was up. It doesn’t confirm of deny anything, but if someone saw it they might infer something from it.
He does have a point; Op Nimrod did post something stupid, that a normal user would have been modded for. Unfortunately we can’t publicly criticise Op Nimrod, as that would be pandering to Gunner, but we don’t want to secretly punish you as that would be an overreaction and would achieve nothing (also no one wants to). Perhaps Op Nimrod should lay low for a bit?
As for Gunner, there is nothing in the AUP that says he can’t out moderators. However we could nab him for questioning modding descions in an open forum – if we wanted to.
No prob chief.

By all means, get DJ to issue a stern telling off? It might go some way to shutting up the dissidents…
It won’t bother me one jot.
And i don’t mean that i won’t listen, i mean i won’t get precious over it IYKWIM
Or, and i’m thinking out loud, keep pressing on them and they might bog off and people might come back to this site. I’m not sure.
I’m getting rather concerned by this trend of agro against the mods. We need to ensure that we are above reproach in all regards.
