(assuming you’re referencing that a teacher can have a class of 30) For a start, they are trained professionals dealing with kids daily. We are not. Teachers also have the schools SLT and other non-teaching staff to fall back on if/when things go wrong. If you take the total ratio of staff to student at a school, it is not 1:30.

Teachers are rarely on their own with a class of kids these days also: they have a team of classroom assistants.
For off site activities, it is 1:10 ratio
