Breakdown of the 2013-2021 CFAV stats for ATC/ACF and CCF (RAF)/CCF (Army)
MB
I put it out because it is daft, but the post I replied to completely overlooked that the levyâs only come from cadet subs and nothing whatsoever to do with staff staying, leaving or taking time off.
I thought that CEP were tied to a 5 year deal, so the CCF numbers canât just be state schools. Also the CEP units we have seen locally have all been ACF, no RAF but this doesnât stop the sods trying to poach our cadets on the promise of a promotion.
I never thought that those not signing the contract were going to be removed as was suggested.
Interestingly the ACF seem to have a more stable staff number, whereas ours tends to flit around, which would be interesting to know why. Our uniformed staffing sees some dramatic changes. I think an age demongraphic would in interesting for staff for uniformed and CI. I would suggest overall there will be lots in the 20-25 and then a drop until 40+ which I could see a rise. Based what I know around the Wing.
My daughterâs local school is opening a CCF (RN) Section.
As an interesting aside speaking to one of the local SSIs if there were looking to expand beyond their currently one section army section the response back was
âNot yet but if we do it will be navy as I donât want to sod about with air cadet admin & two different management systemsâ
Itâs a fair point. Itâs bad enough having just an RAF section. Do much of the admin needs duplicating as even though we donât have an army section we still report to the army
This is going slightly off topic, but I think this is the biggest thing that the ATC forget about the CCF is that itâs not just RAFAC rules that needs to be followed but army & school rules.
Successful CCF(RAF) are good despite of the bureaucracy and not because they follow all the ATC rules.
I have had CCF(RAF) comment to me that this is a bit of the ATC the envy with a lot more support and clearer regs.
I tend to counter that at least in the CCF they donât have SNCOs & adult staff management is a lot easier
Having been a CFAV in both I think admin and support wise itâs swings and roundabouts. I really want SNCOs as well.
Just ask the near by wwos really nicely
I have a crate of brew dog in the stores waiting for you
Should be doing the weekly london commute from mid march so will organise something.
Same for successful ATC Sqns.
