Yes, if I can get a SMS account I will keep my CO in the loop and make sure he is updated. As already said my CO is the only uniformed member of staff and obviously has a lot to do on the admin side of things.
I think the main reason for my CO not approving events is the sheer amount of work involved. Hopefully if I can get an SMS account I can help with that.

You say they’re the only uniformed member of staff, so presumably you have CIs?
They should also be able to access SMS and with the permissions in place push activities to cadet portal.
