So back to the Scouts example, they have regular reviews on activities, badge content etc and these are flagged well in advance. The membership gets a say then it goes into POR (for policy) or activity guidelines, or the badge content.
Point is it’s flagged in advance and runs on a predictable cycle.
Or ‘Press on Regardless’ as some certainly used to know it

It’s bad enough as it is with a plethora of labelling & an absolute hotch-potch of updates, IBNs & variable policy revisions.
Unless there is risk to life, a timetabled revision schedule is essential - no wonder key document updates on Sharepoint has a list longer than your arm, often for very minor changes. Any surprises that CFAVS get out of date with these at times?
There are numerous corporate document tools that would work - Docunet is used by some aviation companies - a big advantage is that you can do key word searches across groups of documents, or even all at once. Currently, especially for newer CFAVs, trying to find a policy document (that’s in date!) can be nigh on impossible.
For clarification, are you meaning a new policy organisation is in the works, or implementing a fixed policy schedule?
The RBL have this for their Ceremonial Handbook (CHB) - the equvalient to our AP818.
It is reviewed every 6 months by the Ceremonial Working Group, and any changes released.
this approach would be nice, although also impossible.
given the number of policies to review, even if every 6 months it would make the March and September “update” massive as pending updates are all made at the same time.
spreading these out across the year, so it is more even, wouldn’t be much different to now…with a constant trickle of changing policy
