Although no doubt there are some RAF personnel who have an interest in tennis, therefore they give up their annual leave to attend in the capacity that they do; there will be a number who do it to score additional points on their annual report (the name of it escapes me right now).
That said, I’ve also no doubt that some are press-ganged into doing it, just like duty at the Olympics in 2012.
I don’t think most of the Airmen and women are there because they are Tennis fans. From what I saw, I think the draw is two weeks away from the day job partying in London!!! Also there were s number of UAS personal this year as well!!
I think that the RAF is so small they can’t cope, but are happy to accept the glory when others step in!!!
