New Smoking and Drinking Policy

The “good old days” of Kaliber ( :face_vomiting:) have changed considerably. Major brands in O% alcohol (Guinness, Heineken, Kopparberg, Ghostship, etc) are, to me, indistinguishable from the real stuff.

Other outlets such as Aldi have pretty good options too - & they are cheaper than the loaded stuff!

the alcohol free wines i have tried all seem like a shloer although there was a Sav Blanc in Waitrose that I enjoyed once which was very grown up in its taste and flavour profile

Lucky Saint is good, but it costs almost as much in some places as a regular beer!

Ghost Ship also gets my vote for an alcohol free ale.

Seconded on the Ghost ship.

But avoid the alcohol free Speckled Hen - it’s vile.

I’m told that the extra cost of removing the alcohol offsets the reduction in alcohol duty so it doesn’t work out cheaper.

I really like the Guinness 0.0. I’m a stout/porter/dark ale drinker and it really comes out on top for the NA beers

AF Lucky Saint by brewdog, is probably the best beer going atm

Lucky saint is one I can’t get on board with

In the ‘secularisation thread’ someone posted the behaviour policy for CFAVs and I was a little surprised to see that the wording includes not drinking alcohol in uniform. Full stop.

That means no alcohol at dining in nights at all, even ones where there are no cadets, even eg the ones I used to go to at YHOM at Cranwell at the RAFAC convention… as no. 5 is a uniform!

Now the single most broken rule in RAFAC!

Always haas been - the trip to the pub after squadron.

Just have to have a few cans of the very palatable Guinness Zero. Just wait for some snarky WSO to report that one.
