(insulated from real life here so I don’t know the cost but) our school has almost entirely switched to short throw projectors mounted to the wall not the ceiling. That might help with the ‘self help’ problems. They are very sensitive to being knocked, though, so you need someone competent to reset the geometry if so.

We’ve just brought a couple of those
One word to the wise we bought a couple of new projectors for work last year and didn’t realise that they needed new mounts, so now we just use them on lecterns with floor screens, which has made them far more versatile, as the mounted ones limited the room layout.
Oh … and always buy a spare bulb!
