On duty only. I do know that!
So they’ll be wearing different ranks on different days of the week? That feels even more unnecessary than before.
I almost wonder if they need separate rank slides at all to define them as FSCs? The only other time we use a different rank slide to show a role is drum major AFAIK. And that’s just a traditional thing.
This was my initial feedback. No point having both
The MOD has to fund ways of spending that extra % the PM has promised to get to 5%
I think it’s also about time we gave CWOs the actual WO insignia.
Our entire rank structure is based upon the RAF ranks and the ACF follow their parent service structure.
Having now added albatrosses to the flight staff cadet rank slides, it’s a shame we didn’t go all the way and give our most exceptional cadets the proper WO tapes with “CADET” beneath.
Edit: May as well have other cadets call them “sir / ma’am”, rather than inventing the term of address “warrant officer”
5% was always a fiction. It was the SecGen’s clever ploy to allow European members to agree to ‘5%’ by allowing them to count 1.5% as stuff they’re already spending. Apparently for us that includes the NHS and rural broadband!
As for the 3.5%, I haven’t seen any credible plans for getting there yet (other than shrinking the rest of the economy so much the current level of spending becomes 3.5% of GDP by default).
We do follow our parent service - it’s just the ranks from 1945 when the RAF had three types of warrant officer
And you could promote straight from AC1 to cpl in certain trades then as well (LAC was only for trades with a certain level of trade training and SAC didn’t exist).
Oh…
To be honest i was trying to find a joke in the disaster that is a waste of money and effort in an attempt to get a laugh
Spot on. Loads of countries will now be allowed to use bridge building, rail upgrades etc to get up to their 5%!
(We’re bad at both of those, so unsure where we’re going to spend more money!)
Hey, hey, hey.
We’re bad at the building.
But excellent at spending the money.
Anyway. Err, topic?
They’re working on it
I read it to check the legitimacy of this part.
So not only did he rip out a key purpose of remaining after 18, he’s decided to rub salt in with garish tabs that will undoubtedly reignite the old moniker but with a second ‘e’.
Excellent.
Perhaps refer to them as “Keeling tabs”
Careful, if you say his name 3 times he comes back
This right here…Winner
Maybe someone should ask on VoV for the rationale and business case to be released, and apply the pressure of budgets and spending.
I would be interested to know how many cadets are there in each of those ranks.
I.e. how many would we need of each to convert everyone tomorrow.
If the current state has very low numbers of a rank (excluding CCF l/cpl) then why get it.
Or put in an FOI request
