MBE for ex-OC ATF

There is a word for people like GHET2 [snip], I just can’t believe this individual is actually in the organisation as a role model for young people.

Disgusting behaviour.
It’s not really though, is it? GHE2 is relentlessly and annoyingly negative, but his detractors in this thread are coming across as pretty sycophantic. I doubt the man in question cares that someone on the internet asked what he had done to deserve his gong.

Then why comment?:
Perhaps to try to get information as to what the individual has actually done which may justify the honour, beyond merely reaching the requisite rank and retiring?
A simple and polite “Does anyone know the backgound behind the nomination?” without the bile would get the information required.

Everyone has differing standards I guess, which speaks volumes about the person themselves. To detract from another persons award smacks of the “If I ain’t got it why should you Brigade”, which is a sorry state of affairs for the ACO.

As for all GHE’s detractors are automatically Sycophants is a lovely sweeping generalisation - actually its more about establishing a minimum level of respect for each other - regardless of Rank.

For the record I have only met the person concerned once on a course at ATF on OIC - I found that he wished to set a decent standard of VR(T) Officer post OASC - no less.

I would suggest that that goes for GHE2, as well. You might not like what he says or how he says it, but ‘absolutely disgusting’ is hardly respectful or actually accurate, is it?

His detractors may not be sycophants, I doubt they are, but they’re doing a good job of sounding like it.

It’s nice the Squadron Leader has been recognised for his work. Well done to him. Some deserving people don’t get recognised. That is sad.

And let’s keep it on topic, civil and above board please. I happen to know that the person in question hates this website enough, let’s not give him (or his successor) and ammunition please!
