But do they actually specify counties, police districts, or the areas administered by tier 1 (‘shire’) councils?
No, that was the problem. My client was barred from Somerset, but had continued to commute to work in North Somerset, thinking they meant the unitary authority, not the ceremonial county.
This is why we should use the ancient and geographic counties for geographic purposes, as they aren’t constantly changing.
How was that element not considered in the first place?
Or did the job come after the judgement?
There’s a difference, surely, between restricting someone’s movements and penalising them by forcing them out of work (which itself would be counterintuitive)?
