Once again not something I was aware of. I could easily do that module to help with overnights.
I always used to get the CivCom to pay for those
Dits.
Quals for staff = civ com pay.
Sadly, not all Civ Coms see it that way - namely where I am; hence I don’t do these quals that could cost me.
Then your Civ Com chair needs a revolution or a slap.
I would tend to agree; it’s not as though they don’t have a very comfortable liquid asset cushion.
I plugged the below into chatgpt
I then took another drink
TLDR : pessimistic outcome is shrinkage by a third by 2035
I asked the same, and got a different answer:
But, I then asked “If we look at how well the Government does at sticking to such reviews as the SDR, what’s a more realistic viability” and got this:
TL;DR it’s impossible to predict, and ChatGPT has no clue
A fair challenge
A 10% decline does feel right over the next 10 years but perhaps it’s also toss a coin to avoid a bootstrap paradox.
The constant increase in red tape and over zealous enforcement is causing more problems than it solves. I was recently told some squadrons have had cadets rejected from activities as they have not met mandatory training requirements. I was unaware cadets had mandatory training requirements, unless they are prerequisite (e.g. a blue badge before doing bronze or MOI for post 18 service).
It will likely be climatic injury training (though by the book security training and health and safety induction are mandatory but I’ve not seen it enforced).
Other one I’ve had is first aid for fieldcraft.
Not a requirement I’ve seen in any documentation (for cadets that is)
I saw a wing put out a Wing Staff Wednesday post for a DepOC Wg, one of the things that stood out to me is the fact he left the ATC ~14 years old due to a lack of flying opportunities
Now that was a good few decades ago, and I was left laughing to myself because it’s got so much worse
Interesting. Maybe this has been removed - fairly sure it used to be there, but possibly pre- (the newish) ACP16?
Never seen a requirement for cadets to have a FA Qual, CFAV yes.
As nearly all cadets do EFA within the first 6 months though it won’t really arise?
ACTO 8 would disagree. The EFA requirement within the first 6 months is for cadets and CFAV.
I was referring to the point above about it being needed for fieldcraft, I’ve not seen it listed as a prerequisite for training.
Also one important thing to remember in regards to asking tools like ChatGPT is that they are not able to actually decipher information, they just run an algorithm which checks for the next most likely word based on it’s dataset when words like the ones in your question are concerned. So overall whatever it says is just going to be someone elses opinions (very possibly from here)
I am slightly hurt that my great insights and bons mots here have been reduced to mere tokens in an LLM. But I guess that’s the future.
