Annoyingly, people still get snippy if you wear the OG puffer jacket on top and that has a rank slide.

Had a cadet recently turn up to a course with an OG jumper, over their MTP shirt.
Complete with blue rank slides.
Looked very smart.

Which raises the question if it became a thing, would CFC wear MTP or blue backed rank slides, or have to get green ones

If your location is so exposed that you need everything to be in MTP, then you shouldnāt be wearing rank slides.
Green meets that happy pint of being low-viz and discreet from any kind of distance, while being āstand outā enough to show that the person wearing it has rank of some form.

Of course the regularsā slides are that much smaller so not really an issue either way for them?
MTP backing for rank slides looks pretty cool with OG jumper.
Because they then match the trousers.
Seems a lot easier to go with green rank slides - matches the jumper, kind of matches the PCS softie jacket, and sits well on the windproof of shirt.
Why make work for yourself?

Because the regs are that the slides should be on the same backing as the uniform that you are wearing. So if you are in MTP you should have blue braid on an MTP slide, if you are in a grow bag it should be blue braid on an OG slide).

Change the regs. Changing a Word document and sending an email is a great deal easier than 4000 people buggering about with their uniformsā¦
Or just do it anyway. No one cares, and anyone who does needs their harddrive checked by the local nonce squad.

Except everyone already has MTP slides because we have had since the new slides came in, what you are advocating for is MTP slides on an OG item of uniform.
That is why I stick to the MTP-backed and donāt double-up with OG-backed just for that single use case.
I just bought a pair of OG slides for my OG jumper.

Just got one of these. Great bit of Kit. Surprisingly toasty. Canāt wait for the first "well it not in "ACP1358, you are not allowed to wear it.
