Stand down, give him another job; shooting maybe Then we find out that there is no replacement for the No.8 !!
Put him out to pasture would be a better .
I would like to remind people that they shouldnât post any message that could possibly get them in to trouble. We know the subject of the above posts has read these forums in the past and taken action against individuals.
if anyone would like to post comments but is wary of doing so in view of the pathetic vindictiveness of this august and hugely competant individual - who, one might think, had better things to do with his time given the state of the equipment heâs responsible for - iâd be very happy to post them as a proxy.
just PM me with the comment and iâll - depending on what youâd prefer - either post them as my own views or mark them as the thoughts of anotherâŠ
remember boys, the first thing they teach at Sleaford Tech is integrity.
All meetings cancelled?? :-o
Iâm guessing the AMP has asked for more information action before singing it off.
More likely no positive progress or plan for the future?
agreed, if it was more information or clarification/tweeking, it would not be a wide effort taking months.
the only reason its a wide effort taking months is that a new (or just aâŠ) plan is required. someone has produced staff work that CAS thinks a shaved chimp could have bettered, and he appears to have lost his sense of humour.
good. he should. âcoastingâ doesnât touch what this bunch of half-wits have been doing.
I wouldnât mind, In fact I would probably have a lot more fun.
I donât think those two scenarios are that similar.
Oh dear.
From the above it sounds like the ACO is getting stuck between a rock and a hard place ref two of itâs principal activities (shooting and gliding). I wonder what nasty thing is coming down the train tracks next?
Hopefully both the above will get sorted soonish on a permanent basis , so that cadets can âget out and doâ once more!
The organisation has certainly changed over the last ten years!!!
Iâll stick with my theory
The organisation has certainly changed over the last ten years!!!
and certainly not for the better in a good number of ways.
All meetings cancelled??
Cancelled? In the spirit of all things OC2FTS, surely you mean âPausedâ?
itâs hard for the ACO to soar like an albatross when HQ are flapping around like pigeons.
âŠHQ are flapping around like pigeons.
Maybe penguins - at least pigeons can fly!
Is this a clue of what might be happening, based on the dates of listing??

I think we should prepare ourselves for having little to no gliding in the future. Iâve got a gut instinct thatâs saying they will bin one of the 2 aircraft completely and not continue with the recovery on it (probably vigilant as thatâs the more complex). I hope Iâm wrong though.

To say the organisation has changed is an understatement. CFAV have busier real lives with increasing pressure from their employers, which impacts on family life which hasnât been understood or accepted by senior CFAV (which is ironic) and the ACOs employed staff. Two of our dept announced this week they will be retiring next year and immediate response was not to expect replacements. So we will be absorbing what they do, which will be fun.
The suggestions to get things âsortedâ are out there but imo they take our senior leaders out of their comfort zone, so arenât ones to be taken up. Unfortunately until the head sheds make some bold suggestions at the ACC and the ACMB are fully onboard with the ramifications if they are taken up, the organisationâs future is neither bright or orange.
The over-riding problem afaic is the RAF has too many of its own demons and canât cope with our demands / needs as a, whilst not separate entity, a nevertheless, dynamic organisation in terms of how it changes and we are suffering. It was fine years ago as all the things we needed to offer cadets the activites were more easily staffed and provided as what we needed was like sipping at glass of water, but the RAF today is an anorexic shadow of its former self and canât do / easily provide these things anymore as what we need is in relation large gulps from the same glass. Yet we still keep on doing things and expecting them to be done the same old way and increasingly running into barriers, because our senior management being all/primarily ex-RAF, keep on doing the same old things the same old way. Then to get us to comply they pop in policies, rather than to use the management clichĂ© âthink outside the boxâ. If ever there was a time when we need this sort of management it is now. They are like the old Daleks, can only work on a flat surface, put some stairs in the way and they are stuffed. What we need are the new Daleks.
Currently joining the ATC as a cadet wrt to flying is a bit like joining a football club and being told about playing football, doing some running around and other non football activities and not being allowed to kick a ball.
Cancelling these meetings with OC VGSâ says it is spades. If they called them and all the information wasnât available (not to be a totally unexpected situation tbh) then someone is in dire need of a P45 where there desk used to be.
