Gliding "paused"

Sounds fixable. Shouldn’t take long to sort… He says…

This has taken a while to make it to an AD - I heard about this issue several months back (not via RAF channels)

Babcock not serco

Erm…

Thought this wasn’t legal…?

I’d suspect it wasnt an official cadet activity but self funded by the cadets and advertised in a way that makes it out to be a cadet activity accidently

ACTO 35 intensifies

Iffy legal grounds, that.

Yep. If this is somehow allowed and they’ve got all the permissions I would love to know how so I can do the same with my cadets! But as far as I’m aware this is not allowed…

The latest good news of ACTO 035 being under review has changed back to how it was; that ACTO 035 will not be revived.

Good for the cadets though that got to fly. Sounds as though they have got more flying in a weekend than entire squadrons will get in a year!

622 have got 100 cadets airborne this week.

It’s not all bad news

No, just mostly bad news.

where was that published

Not entirely sure, will ask where I heard it from.

What the actual fornication!

Boom!

Sorry for the delay in replying, but the Canaries Islands were nice this morning & we missed the rain in Paris.

It would seem very dubious, as the gliding club has clearly linked the Sqn in the social media. As far as I understand it, especially with whatever status ACTO35 is (or is not), “we” can’t generate or be involved in any flying in non-Service aircraft.

All for the flying / gliding, but something like this could matters worse for others.

“give an inch… take a mile”

We’ve seen it in other areas of the org too - if we can’t be trusted to abide by the rules as they are, how can we be trusted not to abuse any relaxations?

I hope there’s something that we don’t know about going on that makes this somehow legit - perhaps someone with links will be able to speak up…
