HQAC didn’t care about a 24ish CI and a 17 year old cadet Sgt shacking up together after meeting at the squadron when I was a cadet. I doubt they are going to care about a four year old friendship continuing on Facebook as long as you don’t abuse that friendship in cadets.

Pretty much, because I can fix a previous comment for you:
Their concern is an “abuse of power” which is a serious issue when it comes to safeguarding.
The first part of this is somewhat anti-safeguarding from and external perspective, but…
- Lock down your social media security settings to avoid snooping at your friends list
(generally good personal security and safeguarding advice anyway) - Keep the friendship outside the gates/off activity
- Remain professional in your staff cadet/ranked role
- Don’t show favouritism
Have a conversation with your friend about the boundaries you need to set.
As for the outside meet up thing:
I reckon you can cover that bit in bold.
