The squadron I was a cadet in was formed in 1939 and isn’t an F. The ADCC was formed in 1938 so I guess even 1939 was a bit slow.
As an ex-member of 7F they were formed in October 1938 as 7 Squadron ADCC at Heath Road school then became 7F Squadron ADCC then became 7F Squadron ATC.

Thank you - lots of myths from the early time so good to have clarification.
The ADCC gazette confirms that 51 Sqn was the 2nd city of Leicester Sqn so would make sense.
