Why is the unit name in brackets? I can understand 1234 (Upper Cwm Scwrt) Sqn on correspondence but on the crest it looks just plain odd.

However if that’s a Sqns only repair needed for a badge, I would argue that they were fine!
At the risk of being pedantic and no-one is ever in the RAFAC are they. The guidance above is silent on the use of brackets. It just says where it is supposed to go. Could this just be an error on interpretation of the guidance?
Brackets are definitely needed on badges, as per the guidance doc.
The College of Arms insist on them.
