Yep, they provided initial set up costs and a year or two of funding from what I understand, but no continuation funds so once that was gone it was another expense schools needed to find money for, and most of them are choosing essentials.

Do CCF(RAF) cadets pay subs?
Because this isn’t at alllll contradictory with their goal of getting more CCF units in state funded schools…
Probably also because of the reduction in overall private school pupils following the introduction of VAT on school fees - Private school pupil numbers in England fall to lowest in at least a decade | The Standard
That goal was under the previous government. The current one says in schools or community units.
Possibly, but a lot of the newer set up units weren’t in private schools
What proportion of CCFs are from the CEP? Because in my experience, the older units have got so used to doing things their own ways that they don’t really do much with any of the local units, which makes them even more ‘unique’, which cuts them off more, etc.
Mine’s from WWI, and has ended up being almost unrecognisable compared to the community cadets. And from talking to people from CEP schools on the LRMAC, theirs seem to be pretty similar to the ATC, because they actually have support, engagent and oversight from the RAFAC.

Yes, in our contingent it goes to the contingent bank account, and is pretty much unrestricted.
CCF(RAF) is a hard sell as Cadets can change section if they want to.
Locally we had many RAF Sections, now less so.
1 CEP section closed, and 2 long standing private school sections closed.
CEP was funding, the private schools were the diminishing offer vs Army. Simply put, they joined to go flying. That wasn’t happening so they switched.
Our Section is still going strong, as is the remaining CEP Section - but that is because we work flipping hard to get our Cadets on as many national opportunities as possible to keep it interesting.
On the point someone raised about doing things with local ATC units, both mine and the other Section work to run our sections like an ATC Sqn - myself and others having been ATC Cadets many moons ago.
This has meant that our Cadets can all play well together.
Having said that, opportunities are not that many. They were there for a brief time when our Sections fell under the local wing, but when we then got moved to Region it stopped.
Ultimately though, once that negative feedback loop of Cadets changing section starts, it becomes very difficult indeed to stop.
