Joining Fire Cadets – what is it and how can you join?

But there were drones flying around so we couldn’t go
There were aircraft there too so of course we couldn’t
Cadets might ask what do those roundels mean in the aircraft.
At least we still have the police cadets that haven’t encroached on our area of expertise (although I await their drone policy with interest)
That uniform looks nice and practical…
It is and it scrubs up well for formal parades too. Our local VPC always look smart on Remembrance Day.
Ah, but have they done a course to be SQEP just in case they ever manage to use a simulator and then touch a real aircraft?
Not too sure about the footwear …
only fire cadets left now
I bet they have done some drone stuff at the very least!
Oh you mean like this, playing with water and climbing ladders,

Airport/aviation firefighters.
I note from Dyfed and Glamorgan’s recent fieldcraft training weekend they don’t seem to have the same rules as us about photos of cadets with weapon systems (I.e. a staff member in every shot, pun intended)
Cadets look like they had a great time though.
We have rules against photos of cadets with weapon systems? Why!?
I think our rules state that any photo on SM of a cadet with a weapon must also have an instructor in the photo with them. I think…
But this is the same bit of policy that says I can only upload photos of cadets rock climbing if they’re wearing a helmet. Same with canoeing/kayaking. All of which can be done without helmets without any problem… So take it all with a big pinch of salt.
Erm, but the instructors are in MTP, so they can’t be seen anyway
