But “Adventure” is our word, although you need to double it and subtract the “ad” from half.
Similar to how we halved the fleet and subtracted the “air”.

And now ive seen that draft MS paint version, can i see the final product please…
Great videos, but neither of them mentioned shooting. That’s why I left scouts and joined the ATC at 13 years of age.
There are some really good Squadron videos out there, I’ve been lucky enough to always have a media-savvy senior cadet or member of staff to make one for the unit and keep it current.
That’s the challenge - has to be kept fresh (even if it’s just dropping new footage onto the previous year’s timeline)
SCC pushing their USP, they are a nautical organisation whereas the RAFAC is hardly aeronautical in the real sense. Simulators don’t count!
One thing I did notice was footage of cadets doing things as well them speaking.
You got a feel that it was genuine rather that a list of activity’s that you are not sure what’s involved. The SCC video was good show not tell where the air cadet one was just overpowered by the electric guitar & you didn’t really get a feel of what it was about.
As much as I appreciate the sentiment, please don’t knock simulator training. It’s the small amount of aviation we have left and frankly the closest a lot of cadets will get to a real aircraft. There is a genuine training benefit, cadets generally enjoy it, and some CFAVs spend a lot of time trying to improve the offering.
So it was ACF conference at the weekend.
Looks like they are launching a cadet portal for parents. It does seem we’re 24months behind them in development
I appreciate all the work which goes into simulators but don’t you find the fact a sim is the closest they get to flying incredibly sad in the Air Cadets…
We shouldn’t just happily accept sims as an equivalent alternative.
Simulators are really amazing investments for the organisation and, as yourself and @Nucleotide said, alot of hard work and effort gets put into getting them working to give opportunities to cadets. I don’t think anyone could knock that.
The issue is they shouldn’t be the only accessable area of aviation. They should compliment AEF and VGS work, not replace it!
Agree with this comment.
Found this in my FB feed.
Interesting - good effort by the Squadron. Keen to know how the arrangement with the local paper works.
Sea cadets have done a good one - particularly as they have juniors.

Sea Cadets - let launch our 5 year national strategy with a good clear social media presence & let’s launch it from the House of Lords to get political buy in & high profile.
Air Cadets - all sqns will be faxed a copy of other strategies once reviews & comments have been received by region….

So to mark the big help out the sea cadets are attempting a record attempt of the largest “call the hands” at National Maritime museum in Greenwich at 16:30.
Are we doing any big national event to mark today?
Probably still waiting for HQAC Comms Team to send out the paperwork
