AAIB Special Bulletin 4/2015 was in fact issued on 21 Dec 2015. Whilst it has highlighted an important issue it is much less significant than the CAA Proposed Mandatory Permit Directive; MPD 16-01 issued this week. The powerplants listed cover the majority of civilian operated ex-military jet aircraft in the UK. Be in no doubt, meeting the requirements of this MPD is more far reaching than ordering and fitting a new seal kit. This could be a very challenging situation for the operators.
